About Dee

Who is Dee?

Hi! My name is Paolo, better known as “Dee” online. I guess I am known by most as that Ragnarok Online dude on YouTube that mains Mastersmith and got lucky with that Orc Lord Card drop on iRO Classic Loki . To others I am the guy that made guides and character builds for RO. If you are new here, Welcome to ggdeeofficial.com!

I was born in Los Angeles, California but grew up in Batangas, Philippines for most of my life. I uploaded my first video in 2009 and have created a few other YouTube channels since. I started a blog called Dee’s RO Journal in 2013 which grew a decent following. It started as blog posts about day-to-day happening in Philippine Ragnarok Online then shifted to character builds/guides and quest guides. The blog came to an end in 2014 due to monetary issues.

I moved to northern California 1 year later. Took a stable job then started GGDEEOFFICIAL in 2016. I wanted to start a brand for myself and community. A community of friends to play and enjoy games with.  Team Game Greats!  Learn, Outsmart and Dominate is our motto.

I’ve always been Gaming.

I was introduced to video games at a very young age like many gamers out there. My parents got me a GameBoy around 4 or 5 years old and I grew up playing Super Mario Land, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kirby, Wario and Motal Kombat etc. Around 7, I got my Super Nintendo, which I remember very vividly playing on our old tube TV after school. Super Mario World, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, Donkey Kong Country and Killer Instinct were my go to games.

Around High School, after begging my parents a million times. I got the holy grail of consoles: The Nintendo 64! I played Mario Kart 64 a lot, partly due to how much games cost back then. I was only able to coerce 4 games from my parents: Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and WCW/NWO World Tour. I am grateful that I had friends and cousins that I could borrow/swap cartridges with. I was able to experience classics like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Golden Eye 007 and Super Smash Bros to name a few.

Around the same time in the Philippines, Playstation got really popular. There were a lot of businesses that were put up that you paid by the hour to play your favorite games. Modded Playstations were rampant and you could get bootleg copies of the same game for less than a dollar. This is where I got into the RPG genre. My favorite game of all time, Final Fantasy Tactics was played on this beautiful grey console. I played a lot of Final Fantasy: Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 and eventually Final Fantasy X and X-2 on the Playstation 2.

Then Internet hit the Philippines hard and it was finally time to ditch the console for a PC. People were now able to download and pirate games like Counter Strike, Starcraft and Warcraft III. The next generation will never experience the frustration and joy of dial-up! I remember having to buy $2 dollar 8 hour dial-up cards just to login to Friendster and play Ragnarok Online.

I played Ragnarok Online for a good decade on different Official servers namely: pRO (Chaos, Iris and Thor/Valhalla) and iRO (Chaos, Classic Loki and RE:Start). Ragnarok Online is my first MMORPG that I every played. I started playing RO way back in 2003 on pRO Chaos Server. I remember playing in a computer shop(computer hub) under a guild named Legion of Vindicators. I played a Knight and this server was where I got my first “Angelwing” from Angeling(it was super expensive back then). First server I learned about key loggers and almost got hacked which led me to avoid computer shops after.

Fast forward a year, I attempted community college in the US. This is where I got into iRO Chaos. I remember sieging mid Prontera which was held by the wind blades alliance if I remember correctly. They were like 10+ guides or something. I played under a guild named Lethal Death. It was the first time I dabbled in WoE.

Upon returning home to the Philippines, RO was still popular as ever. Got into pRO Thor which then turned into pRO Valhalla. This was pretty much where I enjoyed RO the most. Cash Shops were introduced and MVP cards opened a lot of character build possibilities. This is the server where I made my greatest creation: +10 Double Doppelganger Double Lord of Death Axe for my Mastersmith. MVP card options gave way to my 193 APSD Super Novice and Killing Stroke Ninja as viable WoE and PVP options.

I played under Bitzbox and had pretty much dominated the server. I really enjoyed pRO Thor and it’s sad that it ended how it did.

I now play on iRO classic and iRO RE:Start. The Journey Continues…

Enjoy your stay!
