I have been thinking of ways to make more money to fund my video game collection without my wife raising an eyebrow. We just purchased a house this year and the budget is a little tight at the moment. We all have bills to pay and sometimes buying a $60 game every few months can really hurt the bank. So I’ve been thinking, why not try some of these money earning apps/websites to see if we can fund the collection. I’ll post updates on how much was earned each month and what game we purchased. I’m going to treat this as a game and you guys are welcome to join in too! Feel free to share this with your friends.

Confirmed Payment – On my Device right now
Google Opinion Rewards – PROS: Quick 3 question surveys CONS: Surveys are few and depends on your location
GOR for iOS
GOR for Android
Payment Proof
Minimum cash out is $2.00 via PayPal. Surveys come every few days and are location generated, so surveys I take may not be the same ones you get. I recommend allowing notifications so you are alerted when one does show up. You should be able to finish the survey in 5-10 seconds. No referral bonus that I’m aware of.

Microsoft/Bing Rewards – PROS: Fun Trivia and Daily Tasks CONS: I never won anything from sweepstakes!
Sign up on their website and download the app iOS/Android
If you haven’t switched your main search engine to BING for Microsoft/Bing rewards, you have been missing out! I recently discovered this early this year and have been hooked. It is a daily task for me now. Microsoft Rewards does a good job at gamifying the experience through trivia, viewing recent news and daily polls. You also gain 5 points by just doing a Bing search. They also offer monthly sweepstakes for Computers and Xbox One Xs if you are into that kind of thing. I gave up on sweepstakes since I have accepted my bad luck with these things. I have put in thousands of points and now decided to just save for gift cards. There is no referral program in place at the moment unfortunately.
Current Points: 3420

Swagbucks – PROS: Surveys can be fruitful, great rewards CONS: Qualifying for surveys can be annoying
Sign up on their website and download the app iOS/Android
You earn SB Points on Swagbucks by taking Surveys, Watching Videos and Purchasing Items(I don’t use this method) which you can redeem for Amazon/PayPal/Visa gift cards . Ideally you want to save 2200 SB points and redeem a $25 gift card. Surveys are long but fruitful if you get approved to take it. I normally just do the daily poll and watch a few videos and only do surveys when I have time to burn. Referral bonus of 150 SB if you sign up with the link above.
Current SB Points: 229
Panel App – PROS: Passive, Sweepstakes CONS: Unclear referral system
Sign up and download the app iOS/Android
The Panel App tracks daily location points and you are surveyed based off that. Point redemption is a little steep at 20,000 points per $25 gift card. They make up for it in sweepstakes though since you can use these points to enter. Might be worth it if you are lucky. I personally like the sure thing. You get a referral bonus if you get your friends to sign up but it isn’t quite clear how much they and you get.
Current Points: 494
Sweat Coin – PROS: Fun, great for health motivation CONS: doesn’t track indoor steps
Sign up and download the app iOS/Android
The Sweatcoin app tracks outside steps and converts it into sweat coins(1000 steps =1SC) which you can use for product offers and gift cards. The one I have my eyes on is the $50 gift cards for 3,650 sweat coins. Upon registering you are assigned a maximum of 5 sweat coins per day but you can upgrade your max by paying sweat coins monthly. I personally work from home so that wouldn’t really benefit me. My wife however works in the city and hits the max daily. You get 5 Sweat Coins each time you refer a friend and you can actually follow them and look up their progress too. Use the link above to join my leader board.
Current Sweat Coins: 45.70
Ibotta – PROS: Get paid for something you already do CONS: Offers vary. Limited to US only.
Sign up and download the app iOS/Android
Ibotta is an interesting one and honestly the one app I always forget to do. Basically how it works is you can get cash back from retailers by scanning the receipt for the qualified offer. Buy toilet paper from Walmart and get cash back. If you are the main shopper of your family this can be tedious but rewarding. Referral is quite decent at $5 per person referred(I’m pretty sure they have to meet a certain threshold). I’ll update this soon when I get the exact details.

Used Before – Survey Websites
CashCrate – PROS: A lot of Surveys CONS: Spam and Popups
Sign up on their website
I’ve made roughly $150 before on this website a few years ago and was able to cash out monthly(minimum cashout = $20). You will have to qualify for most surveys and sometimes they require you to sign up for their newsletter and offers. Just click out of those and do the legit surveys and/or watch the videos. Just to keep you protected, I would also advise using a separate email and a good anti-virus since you will get a lot of spam and pop ups. They website has changed a little bit. I’ll do a full review when I re-test it myself.
